


John & Hannah started
married life at Hillcott Farm then moved to the Coleman property
(app 70 acres) on Yatala Vale Road. They moved in to Greenwith Farm
six weeks after the twins were born app October 1908. (Clarice
Tilley) Harry & Manny Stevens two of Hannah's brothers had
carried out some of the building at Greenwith and as the family grew
with arrival of Clarice, Bill Harper carried out further building
extensions. Greenwith Farmhouse, Golden Grove Rd was almost opposite
Greenwith Church and along with a further 450 acres (1913)produced
Oats,Peas while sheep,cows,pigs and poultry were raised both for
sale and to supply the household. John Henry continued to increase
his land holdings over the years buying section 2146 from Stan and
in later years Hannah gifted 8 acres of this land to the community
for the Showground, Surrey Farm was purchased in 1943, family
records show rentals from Peter Symons Hatchery on Main North
Road,Salisbury showing the extent of the increasing landholdings.
Henry died 3 days after his son Frank had passed away.
